Simple URL has recently seen a big security update today. This helps to protect Simple URL visitors and users from malicious attacks such as infinite short url redirecting loops (a redirecting url that just repeats itself, in some cases crashing your browser) or bad pages hidden behind other short urls (including Simple URL itself). This is done by using the Untiny API Service. Untiny, for those who do not know, is a very simple but effective and useful site which given any short url will tell you where the short url redirects to. Using this service’s API, Simple URL can now tell if the given link is a redirecting link from another short url site. This will only happen for short urls, and not any regular site.

Be sure to visit Untiny and try it out!

Curious where the Simple URL will redirect to instead or why you are even viewing this post? Well that is because any short url will be changed to redirect here to this very blog post. This has been done to protect you from any possible malicious url attack.
